Supportkids' founder and chairman appointed Deputy Texas Attorney General for Families and Children

(Austin, Texas) – January 7, 2004 – Casey Hoffman, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Supportkids, Inc. of Austin, Texas, announced today that he has accepted Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott's appointment to serve as Deputy Attorney General for Families and Children. He will assume his new responsibilities on January 12, 2004.

"Attorney General Abbott has honored me with this challenge. I look forward to assisting the Attorney General in continuing to improve and streamline the state's child support collection process and developing sound policy related to all children and family issues.," said Hoffman.

Hoffman will be leaving the company he founded 12 years ago to accept his new position. Matt Landry, who has served the company as President for the past five years, has been named Chief Executive Officer and Kathy Kerr who has been Chief Operating Officer will become President. Hoffman stated "Supportkids has an experienced and dedicated management team who will continue with the mission that resulted in a company that has been of such significant assistance to so many families. I have complete confidence in the fact that what we started over 12 years ago will continue with the same commitment to serve its clients that has characterized Supportkids throughout its history."

Matt Landry said "With an experienced management team in place we expect our two hundred person company to continue to grow. The results over the last two years have been extraordinary and we will continue to improve on that performance."

Prior to founding Supportkids, Hoffman was a practicing attorney, state bar president, assistant district attorney and special assistant attorney general. Matt Landry said, "I can certainly appreciate that individuals who have such a rare combination of business and legal experience, and governmental policy development experience have a unique opportunity in times such as this to be a valued leader in the public sector."

President Kathy Kerr noted that the company's culture and experience in helping families collect over $170 million in child support is Hoffman's legacy. "While Casey may be moving to the public sector to continue to pursue his passion, he leaves a company that is imbedded with a culture and mission that is unique. The commitment that all of us here at Supportkids have to continue to help solve the growing problem of collecting child support is intact and will continue to sustain this organization. We are all excited for Casey and what we know he can do from his new office."
