Employees Donate to Help Their Clients in Time of Need
(Austin, Texas) Employees and vendors of Supportkids, the nation's largest
private child support collection agency, are donating money to two of their
client families who were most impacted by Hurricane Katrina. Both families are
from the New Orleans area. A total of $2,500 has been collected by Supportkids
employees and will be distributed to the two families. The families were told
about the donations in phone calls and reacted with surprise and excitement to
the news.
"Our clients, who are living without the child support that they need to provide
for their children on a day-to-day basis, are already stretched to the limit
financially," Vanessa Diaz, vice president of Supportkids, said. "The dire
circumstances that they find themselves in following Hurricane Katrina just
compound their already-difficult situation. Our employees are pleased to
provide some help during this difficult time."
One of the families recently returned to their damaged home in New Orleans. The
single mother is facing the task of rebuilding her livelihood in order to care
for her four minor children. The other family, including a single mother with
two children, is from Reserve, LA, but is staying in La Place, LA. This family
lost all of their belongings and their home has no roof or electricity. They
are not sure when they will be able to return.
