Dennis Young
Dennis Young likes to “make things happen.” He especially likes the challenge of putting technology to work to help people achieve their goals. At Supportkids, that means developing automated systems that increase efficiency while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Dennis honed his technological skills at Dell Computer Corporation and Tivoli Systems Inc., two successful Austin-based companies that grew dramatically during his tenure. Dennis joined Dell in 1987, when there were only 350 employees. He was responsible for building and supporting Dell’s production computing infrastructure, connecting more than 6,000 computers worldwide. Over the years, Dell developed into a computer industry leader with about 6,000 employees.
In 1994, Dennis became director of technical operations for Tivoli Systems, another company poised for explosive growth. He served in several senior management positions before coming to Supportkids in 2000.
Blending his technological and entrepreneurial skills, Dennis enjoys working for a company where service is the first priority. “It’s gratifying to see how technology can help us provide better customer service,” he says. “Our approach is to put ourselves in the client’s shoes, see things from their perspective, and figure out how we can serve them better.”
A native of Garland, Texas, Dennis attended Texas Tech University and the University of Texas at Austin.
