Skip Trace Specialist
SUMMARY: Responsible for gathering and collecting information on the obligor.
This information is passed on to the Child Support Collector.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Contacts private, state and federal agencies to locate obligor’s professional and/or business licenses.
- Contacts private, state and federal agencies to obtain obligor’s assets including banking, personal and business property.
- Locates missing custodial parent and updates his/her address, phone number and employment information.
- Interprets information provided by the State Parent Locator Service and utilizes the information to obtain the obligor’s address,
phone number and employment information.
- Analyzes previously located cases where the obligor has abandoned last known address or employer and establishes alternative
research methods to update/revise locate information.
- Locates obligor, identifies his/her employment and identifies assets owned by obligor.
- Contacts employer for verification of employment/update. Corrects address, phone and contact person to send wage withholding orders.
- Interprets credit bureau reports and calls creditors for information.
- Works with Child Support Collectors to locate and gather information.
- Establishes and maintains network of contacts to help locate wages and other information on obligor.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Qualified candidates will be energetic, inquisitive, and multi-tasked, be able to think on their feet,
able to prioritize effectively and goal oriented. Two years experience in a fast paced, independent working environment required.
On the job training provided. Must have computer experience including MS Office, Word.
